How are engraved acrylic labels made?

A laser engraves through the thin surface layer of 2-colour acrylic to reveal a contrasting core colour, so the text is part of the material rather than printed on it. Labels are cut to your size and shape, with adhesive backing or mounting holes if you need them.

What colour combinations are available?

Colour pairs are limited to the stocked sheet combinations. In 0.8mm: white on black, black on white, white on red, red on white, yellow on black, green on white and blue on white. The 1.6mm range adds white on blue and smoke grey on white. A printed colour chart is available on our resources page.

How durable is engraved acrylic outdoors?

It is rated for outdoor use and is UV resistant, with 2+ years of outdoor life. Prolonged full-sun exposure will gradually dull the surface, and it is not suited to continuous immersion or contact with strong solvents.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 0.8mm or 1.6mm?

Choose 0.8mm for flexible, adhesive-mounted legend plates and 1.6mm where you want a rigid plate, mounting holes or tags.

Can I mix colours on one label?

The colour pair is set by the stocked sheet, so each label is one combination. Different labels in a job can use different combinations.

Is there a minimum order?

No. We accept one-off labels as well as large sets.

Can I see the material before I order?

Yes. A $40 sample pack with every colourway and thickness we stock is posted anywhere in Australia.
